A few years ago, I almost physically lost Nigel—my partner in life and in business.
Diagnosed with cancer, he suddenly lost his ability to speak. For one year, there were no words—no voice for his loved ones.
Nigel was devasted, I was in despair, our business was about to fail.
But in that deep silence, something extraordinary happened…
Our survival instinct awakened our senses, which became a compass for navigating our personal and work life.
We learned to connect through presence. We discovered that we could bring normality and overcome the challenges through reconnect to our senses - our most powerful natural tools.
To speak with our eyes, sense joy and tenderness and make business decisions effectively.
We have invested a lot of time in finding the best way to align dynamics, values and beliefs between us.
We have learned from indigenous cultures, ancient practices, modern phycology teachings and studied from the very top business and relationships experts.
We managed to regain balance once we let go of the vanity, noise, and superficiality—things that, as life has shown us, have remarkably short lives and …we never looked back, and now we want to share and help others.
Because when we return to our senses, we don’t just work and communicate differently.
We lead differently.
We love differently.
We live differently.
I am a former BBC World Service producer and presenter, and the host of a current affairs radio show. My work has always been driven by people, ideas, and the power of meaningful connection—helping others communicate clearly, understand different perspectives, and navigate change.
For over a decade, I have worked in the entrepreneurial space, developing Communication and Change Management strategies with a mission to humanise technology, particularly within the healthcare sector.
A passionate traveller who has set foot on all seven continents, I am a cultural and ancient history explorer, indigenous wisdom collector, and certified wine enthusiast. I believe in living—and leading—through presence and shared sensory experience.
I bring a corporate finance background shaped by C-suite leadership roles in both the UK and the USA. My career has been rooted in professional services, where I have supported organisations to scale sustainably, strengthen governance, and increase long-term enterprise value.
Since 2007, I have focused my work on mentoring boards and leadership teams of SME organisations, helping them navigate complexity, growth, and transition with clarity and confidence. As an Advisor and Mentor to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), I have worked with a wide range of entrepreneurial businesses, supporting their continued development across diverse markets and contexts.
Beyond my professional life, I am deeply fascinated by history and could happily spend a lifetime exploring archaeological sites. I enjoy driving vintage cars through the English countryside and follow Formula 1 across Europe.
A personal journey through cancer profoundly reshaped my understanding of resilience. It taught me how to access hidden human reserves—mentally, emotionally, and physically. Since then, I have developed a strong belief in the power of sensory intelligence as a catalyst for perspective, presence, and transformation, influencing not only how I work, but how I approach life itself.
5 Sense helps entrepreneurial couples and creative minds create harmony between love, life, and business.
